Simone hates her body because she thinks she is too fat and can’t wear the clothes she wants to wear.
Ruben hates his body because his physical limitations mean he can’t get into the school football team.
Despite having low self-esteem, each character is ‘somebody’ and in this story they go on a journey to learn that they do, in fact, have some body.
“Some Body” is a workshop led by Ten Ten which will explore what happens when our bodies don’t live up to our hopes and expectations. It uses drama, testimony and the Gospel to encourage young people to understand their body as a crucial and beautiful part of who they are – as a gift from God – and it will help schools to pastorally support any young people who are facing similar issues.
- This workshop will available during the Summer term 2018, targeted at KS3;
- There is limited availability;
- It is in very early stages of development – the story and intended outcomes presented on this page are provisional and may be subject to change;
- The format of the workshop is still to be decided.
