The Charles Plater Award
In January 2010, Ten Ten Theatre received a major award from The Charles Plater Trust to enable its further work in Young Offender Institutions. The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster and Chairman of the Charles Plater Trust, hosted the event.
The Trust was established from the sale of Plater College in 2006, and makes grants each year on a given theme addressing the work and values of Fr. Charles Plater. This theme for 2010 was ‘Imaginative projects providing education for people from the most marginalised sectors of society’.
Ten Ten recognise the huge impact that this award has had on its work, and subsequently on the lives of the young men they have met.
Ten Ten is a very well-run charity and its work so far has been both excellent and quite consistent with their initial objectives… Operating in difficult regulated environments, Ten Ten have demonstrated flexibility and determination in ensuring that the show must go on.
