Cycle A

Cycle A

April 2016 to February 2017

The Ten Ten team will be touring Cycle A of the primary schools’ programme from April 2016 to February 2017.

Each visit from the company includes the following plays, workshops and teacher resources:

Up in the Clouds

Reception, Year 1 and 2

Ellie has been given extra- special homework. She has been told to “find happiness”. Each time she tries to complete her homework she is interrupted by someone needing her help. As a result, Ellie thinks she has failed. However, with help from her teacher and the rest of her class (the audience), Ellie eventually realises something very, very important…

UP IN THE CLOUDS enables children to see that you can find happiness not only in doing what you want for yourself, you can also find happiness in doing things for others.

The Gift

Year 3 and 4

Ally and Kate are twins. Through a “Gifts and Giving” project at school, Ally reveals that her best-ever present was a violin that cost her parents “over two hundred pounds”; Kate reveals that her most precious gift is a tatty musical box given by her auntie before she passed away. However, as the story unfolds, Ally learns that valuable gifts are not necessarily the most expensive and Kate learns that one of the most precious gifts she can give to Ally is forgiveness.

THE GIFT helps children to discover the beauty of self-giving and sacrifice

Healthy Heart

Year 5 and 6

Monika’s life takes a sudden and unexpected change when her Polish Grandma moves into the family home following a recent heart attack. This clash of culture and invasion of personal space has a significant impact on Monika who subsequently seeks control and affirmation by bullying another girl in her class. However, as her relationship develops with her Grandma, Monika’s life begins to transform.

HEALTHY HEART helps children to understand how it is possible to build up relationships rather than destroy them, to discover friendship in unexpected places, and to believe that everyone is valuable in the eyes of God.

The correct way to teach Relationship Education to primary age pupils.”
