Fear & Fashion Award
Ten Ten Theatre were delighted to win the national Fear and Fashion Award 2010 for The Safer Streets Project.
Presented by the think-tank Lemos and Crane, the award was given for “an outstanding example of a project that has proved successful in helping young people to stop carrying and using knives.”
Martin O’Brien, Artistic Director of Ten Ten Theatre, said:
This is a wonderful recognition of the work we have been doing in schools and young offender institutions.
In my experience, theatre in an education setting speaks very deeply to the hearts and minds of the young people we work with. This award from Lemos and Crane will really help to take our project further afield and hopefully have a huge impact on the young men and women we work with.
The award has subsequently added weight to successful grant applications by Ten Ten for its continuing work in YOI’s.
